League Rules
1. Normal rules of snooker apply to all matches.
2. All regular matches are to be played on a Monday. Cup matches must be played during the week specified on the fixture list.
3. Both teams must agree postponements and inform the LEAGUE SECRETARY. Re-arranged matches can be played on any day of the week providing both teams agree the date and the league Secretary is informed. A minimum of 48 hours notice should be given to cancel a match.
4. Matches to start at 7:30pm. Matches or frames can only be claimed with the approval of both the league secretary and chairman. 15 minutes (minimum) leeway to be given to all frames.
5. Each team will have 4 players, each playing 1 frame.
6. The home team must have 2 players available to start the match at 7:30pm. If other players from the home team are not available to play their frames when required to do so, the points for the frames will be awarded to the away team.
7. Away teams must have at least 2 players available to start the match at 7:30pm. If other players from the away team are not available to play their frames when required to do so, the points for the frames will be awarded to the home team.
8. 1 point to be awarded per winning frame.
9. Points are awarded as follows:- 1 point per frame and 1 extra point for a win, e.g. 5-0 4-1. If the frame score is 2-2 then the extra point is awarded to the team with the highest aggregate score and the result is 3-2. The score for a frame not played is 147-0.
10. Scores to be phoned in within 7 days to Masters Snooker Club (Tel: 9787430) or e-mailed to RVWRIGHT@NTLWORLD.COM or Mobile 0779 9482293
11. It is the responsibility of the winning team’s captain to phone in or E-mail the result of the match within 7 days of the match being played. If the results or details of a postponement are not received within the 7 days the match will be deemed as void, that is 0-0.
12. The league Secretary will distribute league tables to all clubs within the divisions on a regular basis.
13. League fees (currently £25 per team, per season) should be paid to the Treasurer at the Annual General Meeting. Payment can be by cash or by cheque made payable to Nottingham & Notts Institutes Association. Any club failing to pay within one month of the AGM will be removed from the league and the results from any matches played by that club become void.
Disputes about a match result should be referred in writing to the league Secretary who, together with the league chairman, will decide on the outcome. Their decision will be final. |
Cup Rules
1. Normal rules of snooker apply to all frames except that in these matches points are the main factor (not frames as in normal league matches). All other league rules apply.
2. If the score is level at the end of the frame, the score stands. The black ball is not re-spotted as in a normal frame. This is because of the handicap score that a team receives before each match is played.
3. If the score is level at the end of the match*, then the two players who played the last frame, plays a re-spotted black ball to decide the result.
*(All four scores added together + any handicap scores)
4. The handicaps will be done on a round to round basis. Teams will be handicapped on their league position just prior to the round being played. It is therefore important to send your results as soon as possible, so as not to receive a false handicap. Any results not received by the draw date (approx..two weeks before the matches are due to be played) will add 3 points to your total. This will alter your league position and your handicap.3 points will be added, to a teams total points, for any matches that are postponed so that at the draw date all teams will be deemed to have played the same number of matches.
5. Handicaps will be based on 7 POINTS per league position. Therefore top of division 1 H/C -0, 2nd in division 1 H/C 7, 3rd in division 1 H/C 14,<-----------> bottom of division 2 H/C 119. This will be rounded up, when the draw is made, so that one team will have zero handicap and the other will be whatever the difference in handicap between the two teams is.
6. Results to be phoned to Masters s.c. 9787430, e-mail rvwright@ntlworld.com or to me on 0779 9482293 as normal. When phoning results in please indicate that it is a cup result. |
